Gamelof Chooses iPhone than Android Mobile Phones

Designer and publisher of mobile games Gameloft have decided to reduce the game development for mobile phone which the system based on Android. Instead, they more choose to escalating the games development for iPhone. Gameloft’s Finance Director, Alexandre de Rochefort says their reason to reduce the investment on the Android’s platform.

"The reason is, online application shop for Android’s platform sloppy, not likes iPhone’s online shop. It’s cause not supported market condition for the Android’s costumers who want to buy applications for their mobile phones, " Rochefort says, as quoted by MacWorld.

Rochefort doubts the Android’s market. According him, it’s hard for company to get significant profit with that platform. And Google itself as the platform’s creator not yet show the desired result on the promotion for Android’s software. This decision seems sensible enough. For the comparison, the last quarter iPhone’s games succeed on enhancing their profit up to 13 %. While the Android, only made profit about 0.0325 %, 400 times less than iPhone’s games.

Nokia presents 5330 Mobile TV

After has concentrated on developing xpres music mobile phone (XM), this time Nokia presents their newest mobile phone TV. Officially, Nokia will release Nokia 5330 Mobile TV soon, its look similar to the previous series which is 5330 XM. The different is, Nokia 5330 Mobile TV comes with DVB-H receiver addition.

DVB-H receiver is the equipment that useful to receive TV’s broadcasting directly to the mobile phone. Besides integrated with DVB-H receiver, Nokia 5330 Mobile TV has similar features specifications with Nokia 5330 Xpress Music. Nokia 5330 Mobile TV has 2.4 inch QVGA screen, 3,2 mega pixel camera with LED flash light; 3G network and GPS ability; 3,5 mm jack audio and a micro SD slot with 2 GB card including in the packet.

Nokia 5330 Mobile TV will release on the first Quartal of 2010 and it price about 155 euro not including tax and subsidy.

Product Manager of Windows 7, Microsoft Indonesia, Lukman Susetio, say that his company ready to facing the competition with the famous smart phone, Blackberry. Windows Phone is the successor of Windows Mobile, according to him, and it has benefit because it is an evolution from PDA ( Personal Data Assistant).
"PDA changes what it was on PC to net books, and then from the net books to mobile phones. The challenge now is to present an easy user interface for people, " he said. Lukman say that he is optimistic that Windows Phone can compete various smart phones. Microsoft values Windows Phone as the only gadget that costumer can count on, especially for the profesionales who have out door activities.
"There is Office Application in Windows Phone. This feature is one of the keys that strengthen Windows Phone, it is offers interesting experience too, because it’s same with PC, " he adds.
While, The Vice President of PT Acer Indonesia, Jason Lim, say that mobile phones with Windows System are something that his company can count on. This system has been applied to Acer’s handset. According him, Acer is including one of note book which be a pioneer that applied the newest Windows System.
"The problem is, Windows platform always attract viruses. The viruses’s attack can be one of the costumers considerations. But, there are very rare situation where viruses attack handset directly. If there are any of them, 95 % viruses attack handset through blue tooth and MMS’s attachment. But now, Antivirus vendors have provide their products for Windows Phone, " he explains.

iPhone 3GS Production Cost Only 179 US Dollars

Research company iSuppli reported that Apple iPhone 3GS production cost only 179 US Dollar. The retail cost can be more expensive, if it is not subsidized by the operator services. iSuplli, a research company in California, USA counted the production cost of iPhone 3GS only 179 US dollar. This cost came from cost of each components, from the basic component into assembling cost.

According iSuppli, the iPhone 3GS only 5 US dollar more expensive than iPhone 3G (8 GB version). Total production cost of 3GS is 178,96 US dollar, while 3G is 174,33 US dollar. The total production cost is not including other cost like software development, packaging, and shipping.

Flash memory is the most expensive part of iPhone 3GS. It’s 24 dollar. The other including display module (Toshiba) 19,25 dollar, touch screen (Toshiba) 16 dollar, application processor (Samsung) 14, 46 dollar and baseband (Infineon) 13 dollar.
