Edit your video with VideoPad Video Editor

What is VideoPad Video Editor

There were only few free video editing software that I knew: Windows Movie Maker and Avidemux. Avidemux only has limited features than Windows Movie Maker. Windows Movie Maker probably enough for simple editing. But, it lacks some features that I want.

I accidentally stumbled upon this software, VideoPad Video Editor. I was interested to use it when I found out that its size only 3 MB. Honestly, when I downloaded it, I felt suspicious. Most video editing software with the same or more features that VideoPad has will have at least 50 MB or more.

Then, I took a look at it and its features. At the first time, I thought it was similar with Windows Movie Maker. Both have similar features like adding effect and transitions, add narration. It looked like a simple video editor.

But, then I found that VideoPad has several superiority than Windows Movie Maker. It supports more video and audio both input and output. It has various free plugins that you can download from the Internet. You can add and edit subtitle, give narration on the project, you can add watermark or text in the video. While so far I know, you can only put text on credit title on Windows Movie Maker. You can zoom in and zoom out a part or several parts of your video project. You can crop the video, add effects like blur (polarized), cartoon, etc.

Recently I produced some video tutorial using VideoPad and I'm satisfied. It's smaller and lighter than other video editing software, which have the same features. But, it is as reliable as them. I know that you won't get fancy or complex features like you will find on Adobe Premiere, Corel Video Studio, and Sony Vegas Pro. But, they are expensive and need computer with high specifications.

This software probably is not suitable for savvy and experienced video editors, but if you are just like me who need a simple, light video editor with more features VideoPad Video Editor is worthy to try.

Update: I didn't know that it is a trial software. The homepage doesn't mention anything about trial and only says that we can use it for personal purposes or buy it. Apparently this software is trial for 14 days. After the trial time is over, the output videos will be limited into .avi, .wmv, .asf and DVD.
