Top 10 Antivirus (January/February 2012) ~ Freeware Catalogue

An independent IT-Security Institute just released a test result of antivirus products in January-February 2012. This test involved 3,000 individual. And the result consisted from three different categories: protection, repair and usability.

Protection is when those antivirus products were installed on non-infected computers and the testers ran various attack scenarios that possibly happen on the Internet. Repair is when those antivirus products were installed on infected computers and the testers used to repair the computers' system, remove threats and recover data. While, usability tests how antivirus products performed their tasks such as gave warning messages, scanned the computer, gave false alarms, etc.

The result didn't rank antivirus products according their scores. So, we put them on different categories and rank them according to their scores. Next to each antivirus/security program, we put the score on parenthesis. The highest score is 6 and the lowest is 1. And since there were some products that had the same scores, we just arrange the list by the same order from the raw table from the test result.
